Howdy!

Hi there, and welcome to my blog! My name is Jerome, and I’m an IT engineer based in Orange County, California. I created this space as a personal outlet to share what I’m learning, building, and exploring—both in the world of technology and in my broader creative interests.
By day, I work in enterprise IT, supporting cloud infrastructure, automation workflows, and security systems. Outside of work, I spend much of my time in my home lab—a place where I experiment with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and a range of self-hosted services. From setting up custom n8n automations to optimizing my media server stack, I’m constantly trying new things and learning along the way. This blog will serve as a way for me to document those projects, reflect on what works (and what doesn’t), and hopefully help others doing something similar.
While tech is a huge part of my life, it’s far from my only interest. I’m passionate about language learning—particularly Korean, Japanese, and Mandarin—and I’m always looking for better ways to stay motivated and track my progress. I also have a deep love for K-pop, video games, horror films, and food (especially if it’s spicy). You’ll likely see posts on all of these topics here as I build out the content and shape the identity of this blog over time.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Technical deep dives on home lab projects, automation workflows, and self-hosted tools
- Personal reflections on the learning process, career growth, and side projects
- Language learning logs and tips for staying consistent and engaged
- Cultural commentary on K-pop, gaming, and the occasional film or show that stands out
- Lifestyle posts that capture the fun and chaos of balancing work, passion, and curiosity
This blog is self-hosted and runs out of my home lab—because if I can build it myself, I will. My goal is to create content that’s useful, honest, and maybe a little inspiring for others who, like me, are constantly building, tweaking, and evolving their skills.
Whether you’re here for the tech, the language tips, or just to see what I’m working on next, I’m glad you stopped by. Feel free to follow along, leave a comment, or get in touch. I’m always open to connecting with fellow tinkerers, learners, and creators.
Let’s build something great together!
